My work moves between the digital and the tactile: there’s a time for technology, and a time to get messy, covered in paint, and connected to the physical world.

I grew up without TV in Santa Cruz, California, so most of my childhood was spent raising tadpoles, experimenting in the kitchen, making art, and training to be a professional ballerina. As a hyperactive kid, I pushed my body to the limits and ended up at the doctor for a variety of injuries. And while most people dreaded waiting rooms, I actually came to love looking at the medical infographics as they turned an experience that was once frightening and unknown into something fascinating, comforting, and inspiring. That curiosity eventually grew into a passion, leading me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biology.

After graduation, I moved to Panama to work in conservation ecology with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Though I valued being close to scientific discovery, I felt compelled to bridge the gap between the scientific community and the general public through my interest in art. With that in mind, I moved to Providence, RI and obtained my certificate in Natural Science Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design, then Boston to work as a Curriculum Illustrator for Tufts School of Medicine's Center for Science Education.

To expand my technical skill set, I completed a master’s degree in Medical Visualization and Human Anatomy from the University of Glasgow, UK, with a focus on interactive application design. Following that program, I led the animation department for the Journal of Medical Insight, creating content used by over 200 medical teaching institutions and redesigning the website to enhance accessibility.

In recent years, I’ve been freelancing across industries, including creating illustrations for Stanford Medical’s presentation at the World Congress of Surgery, making training materials for hospitality groups, and designing web tools to support online science education.
